Clearly disclosed, as required

In short: some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission from the retailer, at no extra cost to you. Those commissions fund our work and are always disclosed. They never change a score, a ranking, or which gear we recommend.

How we are funded

Where the money comes from

Running an independent review site takes time and money: researching specs, cross-checking independent testing, and keeping reviews up to date. Rather than sell that independence to brands, we fund it through affiliate commissions.

When you buy through one of our links, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. You pay the same price you would have paid anyway. This model only works if you trust us, so protecting that trust matters more to us than any single commission, which is why the rules further down are absolute.

Ratings are not for sale

We rate and rank gear first, using one fixed standard, and add the buying links afterwards. No brand or retailer can pay for a place, a higher mark, or a kinder verdict. If a cheaper product or an older model is the smarter buy, we say so, even when it earns us less, or nothing at all.

No pay-to-rankCommission never moves a product up a list.
No sponsored scoresA brand cannot buy or influence a mark out of ten.
Cheaper wins get saidIf the budget option is better value, that is our verdict.

FAQ

Does golfingpicks make money from links?

Some links to retailers are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. It never changes our ratings.

Do affiliate links affect your reviews?

No. We rate and rank gear first, on a fixed standard, and add buying links afterwards. No brand or retailer can pay for a place, a higher mark, or a kinder verdict.

Does it cost me more to use your links?

No. You pay the same price whether you use our link or go to the retailer directly. The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.

How do I know a review is honest?

Our standard is public and every score is comparable. See exactly how we test and score gear, and where every figure comes from.
